Rebel Star Prabhas assured Japanese his fans that he would visit Japan soon to meet them in person. He also encouraged them to watch and enjoy Kalki 2898 AD, which is set to release in Japan on January 3, 2025.

Prabhas was unable to attend the Japanese premiere of his recent blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, which took place earlier today. He was scheduled to arrive in Japan yesterday with director Nag Ashwin, but he had to abandon his plans owing to an injury received on the set of his future production.

The epic science-fiction action film is inspired by ancient Hindu scriptures and it is the first instalment in a planned Kalki Cinematic Universe. The action drama is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, the film follows a select group who are on a mission to save lab subject SUM-80’s unborn child, Kalki. Now the film is all set to entertain Japan fans as the Prabhas’s starrer  is releasing on the theaters soon.

Amid the busy schedule actor couldn’t attend the event and released an video. Prabhas apologized in a touching video message to his Japanese admirers for his absence. In the video, he thanked his followers for their enduring love and support throughout the years, and he expressed sadness for not being able to celebrate the premiere alongside them.

The film follows the epic Kurukshetra War, where Ashwatthama attempts to kill Uttarā’s unborn child. For committing the act, Krishna, the 8th avatar of Vishnu, curses him to roam the earth as an immortal and witness humanity’s misery as a result of societal and moral deterioration during the Kali Yuga. Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled hit Japanese theaters on January 3, 2025.
