Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed both the block-buster movies Kabir Singh(2019) and Animal(2023). Kabir Singh was a Hindi remake of Vanga’s Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, was criticized for it’s violence and misogyny, but it became one of the highest grossing Hindi films of all time.

In a recent interview Komal Nahta, Vanga has made many interesting and shocking revelations as well. In a rapid fire session, a set of questions were shot at the director. Sandeep didn’t hesitate to put his answers forward. Neither did he make a choice reluctantly, nor he was apologetic about any choices he made.

When the interviewer asked vanga to choose between, Ranbir or Shahid Vanga didn’t even take a second to give an answer.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga answered, “Ranbir kapoor”, with much enthusiasm. He also chose Animal over Kabir Singh when he was asked to make a choice between these two films.

Vanga also gave a glimpse of an interesting revelation about Ranbir. He said that, in Animal where Ranbir did a naked scene, they thought of doing this with prosthetic makeup. They wanted to keep the upper body as it is, but manage the lower body with prosthetic makeup. It turned out very well during the test shoot. But when they went to the sets, something was different.Vanga told the hero that the scene was not coming out right, that feeling was not coming out. After discussing for ten minutes, Ranbir Kapoor said that he would do it without the prosthetic makeup.Sandeep Reddy Vanga said that everyone was shocked by that decision.

He had previously mentioned in an interview that, he told Shahid Kapoor not to do remakes and he’s an original actor.
