Superstar Mahesh Babu is voicing Mufasa in the Telugu version of the Disney film Mufasa : The Lion King. While Brahmanandam will voice Pumbaa, and Ali will voice Timon in the Telugu version. Also check out for the film’s much awaited worldwide release date.

In a recent conversation with a media Mahesh Babu said that he was excited to be part of the  upcoming Disney project and that it was a special collaboration with Disney. He also said that the character of Mufasa appealed to him as a loving father and the supreme king of the jungle. 

The upcoming Telugu version of Mufasa: The Lion King is creating a quite a buzz on the social media ecer since the news came out, particularly with the involvement of superstar Mahesh Babu, who will voice the character of Mufasa. The already released trailer featuring his voice has garnered positive reactions from fans and critics alike.

According to a source Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan will voice Mufasa in the Hindi version, and Arjun Das will voice Mufasa in the Tamil version. The film is a prequel to the 2019 live-action adaptation of The Lion King and focuses on Mufasa’s backstory. It blends live-action filmmaking techniques with photoreal computer-generated imagery.

The upcoming Lion King sequel is directed by Barry Jenkins and bankrolled by Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak are producing the film and Peter Tobyansen is the executive producer. It follows orphaned cub Mufasa meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destinies. It is scheduled grand worldwide theatrical debut on December 20, 2024 across multiple countries.

Mahesh Babu will next starred in SS Rajamouli directorial action adventerous film SSMB 29, is expected to begin filming in January 2025.
