Why Gali Kireeti Reddy’s Debut Film Faced 4-Year Delay

Why Gali Kireeti Reddy’s Debut Film Faced 4-Year Delay

Gali Kireeti Reddy: Controversial businessman Gali Janardhan Reddy’s son, Gali Kireeti Reddy, is all set to make his acting debut. His long-delayed film Junior will finally hit theatres on July 18. While the film is releasing this July, the surprising part is how long it took to get here.

The project began four years ago, but continuous delays stalled its progress. Industry insiders claim that Kireeti Reddy himself was the main reason behind these setbacks.

Known across the country for his immense wealth, Gali Janardhan Reddy wanted to launch his son into the film industry. Kireeti, too, reportedly dreamed of shining on the silver screen. With his father’s backing, he stepped into Tollywood with Junior.

A Film That Started in 2020
The film Junior started production four years ago. It stars Kireeti Reddy alongside Sreeleela, who signed this as her first film. Veteran producer Sai Korrapati is producing it under the Varahi Films banner. Despite Korrapati’s official title, many in the industry believe Janardhan Reddy is the one managing things behind the scenes.

Was Kireeti the Reason for Delays?
Industry chatter points to Kireeti Reddy’s lack of discipline as the key reason for the repeated delays. He rarely showed up on time for shoots. Sources say that when he did come, it was around 4 PM, long after the usual start time of 6 or 7 AM. After shooting a single scene, he would reportedly call it a day and leave for rest.

Seniors Show Up, Junior Doesn’t?
The film reportedly features several senior, seasoned actors—all of whom arrived on time and remained professional. In contrast, Kireeti’s late arrivals and short shooting schedules reportedly frustrated the team and disrupted planning.

Budget Overruns Due to Delays?
Because of these repeated delays, the film’s budget increased by nearly 10% beyond what was originally planned. While Kireeti may not worry about costs as a “rich kid,” many in the industry quietly criticize how this has wasted four years for the cast and crew. As Junior finally gears up for release, all eyes are on Kireeti Reddy to see if his debut performance will justify the time, money, and effort invested.
