Travelling on the fast lane on highways has become easier with the launch of FASTag Annual Pass. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari recently announced this facility. Officials will inaugurate it on Independence Day, August 15, 2025.
With respect to private car, jeep, and van owners, the FASTag Annual Pass allows unlimited travel on specific toll plazas on National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas. Once users purchase and activate the pass, they can use it for one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first. Drivers pass through toll plazas without paying charges for every trip.
FASTag will cost ₹3,000 for the base year 2025-26. Users can pay through the Rajmargyatra mobile app or the NHAI official website. They complete the payment within minutes and choose from multiple convenient payment options.
To activate the FASTag Annual Pass, vehicle owners must confirm their eligibility. After users pay ₹3,000, the system activates the pass within two hours. The activation links to the existing FASTag installed on the vehicle.
Validity of FASTag Annual Pass
The validity of the pass is for one year from your activation date OR you can use it for 200 trips. After completing 200 trips or after the one year expiration time, the pass resumes to be a normal FASTag account. No further action is required from you.
No, the FASTag Annual Pass is non-transferable. The pass only works for the vehicle linked with the registered FASTag account. If users try using the FASTag annual pass on another vehicle, the system deactivates it immediately.
For point-to-point fee plazas each crossing is considered a trip. If you do a round trip (to and fro) it counts as two trips. At closed tolling fee plazas, one entry and exit pair counts as one trip.
