The Vande Bharat sleeper train, which the country’s rail passengers have been waiting for for a long time, will soon hit the tracks. The Vande Bharat trains that have already been available are providing good services to the passengers on all the routes they are running. Due to the fast travel along with cutting-edge technology, railway passengers are flocking to the Vande Bharat trains.
However, while the Vande Bharat train has only seats for the past few days, the Vande Bharat train with berths will soon be available to the passengers. In this context, the Indian Railways has recently taken a key decision to run the country’s first Vande Bharat train from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai in Maharashtra.
This Vande Bharat sleeper train has already successfully completed trials between several cities across the country. It is against this backdrop that it seems that the Railways has finalized the launch of the first Vande Bharat sleeper train on the Lucknow-Mumbai route. There are chances that the full schedule for this will be released soon. It is known that the first Vande Bharat train was started between Varanasi and Delhi. It seems that this new Vande Bharat sleeper has already reached the Delhi coach yard.
Due to the heavy passenger traffic on the Lucknow-Mumbai route, the Railways have decided to run the first Vande Bharat sleeper on that route. Railway sources have revealed that the survey for this has also been completed. Like the Tejas train, this sleeper Vande Bharat train will be available four days a week. The train route and schedule will be officially announced after the approval of the Railway Board. If the board approves, it is said that this service is likely to start from July. Officials said that the survey has been going on on the Lucknow-Mumbai route for the last 6 months.
The first Vande Bharat Sleeper was previously proposed to run via Kanpur, Mathura and Agra to Mumbai. Then, a route from Bareilly to Agra via Aonla, Chandausi, Morabad, Ghaziabad and Nizamuddin to Mumbai was examined. Finally, the Mumbai route via Bareilly Junction was decided. Recently, the route from Lucknow has been changed to Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly Junction, Rampur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Nizamuddin and Agra. This route is expected to be convenient for those traveling to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh as well as many districts of North India.
This Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have a total of 20 coaches. It will have First AC, Second AC, Third AC, 2 General AC and 2 Seating cum Luggage coaches. This train can carry about 1200 passengers. While currently it takes 16 to 17 hours to travel between Lucknow and Mumbai, the Railways says that if this Vande Bharat Sleeper train becomes available, passengers will be able to reach their destination in about 10 hours. The Railways is making efforts to run Vande Bharat Sleeper between different cities across the country. Earlier, there were reports that this Vande Bharat Sleeper will be run connecting the cities of New Delhi-Secunderabad, New Delhi-Howrah, Delhi-Pune, and Mumbai-Delhi.
