IRCTC Big Warning for Diwali Travellers:
With the festive season of Diwali just around the corner, the Indian Railways has released an important reminder for all passengers. Every year, many people travel by train to their hometowns to celebrate Diwali with their families. They usually carry sweets, clothes, and gifts. However, some passengers also try to take firecrackers along with them. The Railways has made it clear that this is strictly banned under railway safety rules.
According to railway regulations, carrying explosive or flammable materials like crackers, matchsticks, or fireworks is a serious violation. The rules are meant to ensure the safety of hundreds of passengers traveling on a train. Even a small spark can cause a big fire and endanger many lives.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and safety teams have already started strict checks in stations and trains across the country. Officials have said that they will be keeping a close watch on all passenger luggage to prevent any illegal transport of firecrackers during the festive period.
If anyone is found carrying such materials, they can face action under Section 164 of the Indian Railways Act. This includes a fine of up to ₹1,000, imprisonment for up to three years, or both. The authorities have warned that no passenger will be spared if they break these safety rules.
Railway officials have also requested passengers to cooperate and celebrate Diwali safely. They suggested buying firecrackers only after reaching their destination and using them responsibly in open spaces.
By following these guidelines, passengers can help ensure a safe and joyful Diwali for everyone. The Railways’ main goal is to protect lives and prevent any accidents during one of India’s biggest festivals.
