IRCTC Important Update on THIS Free Feature in Vande Bharat Trains

IRCTC Important Update:

The Indian Railways has given a clear message to passengers about free water bottles in premium trains. Recently, many travelers were confused after hearing that free water bottles would not be given to people who select the “No Food” option while booking tickets. This created worry among passengers who regularly travel on premium trains. Now, IRCTC has officially clarified the matter and said that free water bottles will continue to be provided to all passengers.

IRCTC Important Update:

After the COVID-19 period, Indian Railways made several changes in train services, especially in food facilities. Earlier, food was automatically included in the ticket fare for premium trains. Now, passengers are allowed to choose whether they want food or not while booking their tickets. If they select the food option, the cost is added to the ticket. If they select “No Food,” the food charge is removed.

This system is followed in premium trains like Vande Bharat Express, Rajdhani Express, and Shatabdi Express. Because of this change, a rumour started that passengers who do not select the food option will not get free water bottles. This news spread quickly on social media and created confusion.

IRCTC officials have now clearly stated that free one-litre water bottles will be given to all passengers, whether they choose food or not. They said that water is a basic service and will always be provided to ensure passenger comfort and safety.

Some passengers also complained that during ticket booking, the “No Food” option was not clearly visible on the IRCTC website and app. They thought that they were being forced to select the food option. In response, officials explained that the option has not been removed, but its position on the booking page was slightly changed, which caused confusion.

Passengers who want to choose the “No Food” option should:

Select their train on the IRCTC website or app
Enter passenger details
Go to the catering service section
Select the “No Food” option
Complete the booking

Indian Railways has once again assured passengers that free drinking water will continue to be available in premium trains, no matter which food option they choose.
