IRCTC’s Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour: Complete Details

Bharat-Bhutan: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), a “Navratna” enterprise under the Ministry of Railways and the professional hospitality and tourism arm of Indian Railways, now offers an incredible new journey, the “Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour” aboard the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train.


Following the successful launch of its unique rail tour connecting India and Nepal, IRCTC is now set to introduce another cross-border experience. Beginning on June 28, 2025, the “Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour” will provide travelers with a rare opportunity to explore the scenic and spiritual landscapes of both India and its neighbor, Bhutan.

Tour Details:


The 14-day journey begins in New Delhi, where travelers board the train bound for Northeastern India. The itinerary first takes them through Guwahati, Shillong, and Cherrapunji, regions known for their lush landscapes and unique culture. From there, the group travels onward to Hasimara Railway Station in West Bengal. Upon arrival, IRCTC arranges a road transfer to Phuentsholing, the border town that serves as the gateway to Bhutan. Once in Bhutan, travelers spend the next six days exploring Thimphu, the former capital of Punakha, and the picturesque town of Paro, famous for its serene monasteries, rich culture, and breathtaking mountain views.

Train Journey Details:

The journey begins at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station, from where the train heads to Guwahati Railway Station. As the capital of Assam, Guwahati serves as the first stop and primarily functions as a transit point. Here, travelers will visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Shakti Peeths, nestled in the heart of the Nilachal Hills.

After the temple visit, the tour proceeds to Shillong, often called the “Scotland of the East”, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultural vibe. Upon arriving in Meghalaya’s capital, guests will enjoy the sunset from the picturesque Umiam Lake viewpoint and stay overnight in Shillong. Next, the tour concludes with a visit to the National Museum, followed by a cultural show and dinner. The final night of the journey will be spent in Paro. On the following morning, the group will travel to Hasimara Railway Station to begin the return journey.

Package Details:

IRCTC offers the all-inclusive package at attractive rates: ₹1,58,850 per person for AC I Coupe, ₹1,44,892 for AC I Cabin, ₹1,29,495 for AC II, and ₹1,18,965 for AC III. These prices cover everything, from train travel in the selected class to accommodations at three-star hotels. Additionally, IRCTC includes all vegetarian meals, bus transfers, sightseeing, travel insurance, and tour escort services in every package.
