Anchor Shyamala few days ago filed a petition in the High Court by requesting protection from arrest. She asked the court to direct the police not to take action against her in the betting case. However court ruled that she must cooperate with the investigation and appear before the police. Shyamala later attended questioning. She was interrogated for three hours. After the session, she urged the public not to promote betting apps.
Now anchor Vishnupriya has taken a similar step. She has filed a pre arrest bail petition in the High Court by requesting protection from arrest. Her plea is related to the cases registered against her at Miyapur and Panjagutta police stations. The High Court has taken up her case and issued similar orders as in Shyamala’s case. Vishnupriya has been directed to cooperate with the investigation and appear before the authorities.
During the court hearing, the government’s lawyer informed the High Court that both cases registered in Miyapur and Panjagutta, would be merged into one. The case will be handed over to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Telangana government. This move is aimed at ensuring a thorough and transparent investigation.
The Telangana betting case has raised serious concerns about celebrities endorsing illegal activities like betting apps. The investigation is continuing and the court has made it clear that all accused individuals must cooperate with the police. With both Shyamala and Anchor Vishnupriya under legal scrutiny, the case is expected to unfold further in the coming days.
