AICWA accused the Film City Managing Director and Labour Commissioner of Mumbai of negligence, which allegedly led to the violation of fire safety protocols. The association’s statement suggested that producers may not be following mandatory fire safety rules, putting the lives of workers at risk.
The AICWA also demanded that a criminal FIR be filed against the producers, the production house, the channel, and the Film City officials. They have raised concerns that the fire could have been deliberately set for insurance claims, a serious accusation that needs thorough investigation. Additionally, they demanded that any production house found violating fire safety norms should be blacklisted immediately.
Urgent Need for Safety Measures
The fire on the Anupamaa set has raised serious concerns about the lack of fire safety measures in the entertainment industry. AICWA’s strong demands for accountability are an urgent reminder of the need for better safety regulations in production houses.
