Hyderabad: The government is ready to solve the traffic problems in Hyderabad city. While new flyovers and underpasses have already been constructed in many places in the city, another flyover is now ready for construction. To check the traffic problems in the IT corridor, a new flyover will be constructed from Triple IT Junction to Kokapet. Survey work has been undertaken to this extent.
The Telangana government has taken steps to ease the traffic woes in the Hyderabad IT corridor. TGIIC will construct a new flyover between Triple IT Junction and Kokapet ORR Junction. The flyover is planned to be 5 km long, 24 meters wide, and cost Rs. 700 crore. Survey work has begun for this. TGIIC has set a target of completing the survey in three months and making the flyover available in two and a half years. If completed, it will be the second-longest flyover in the city.
There is heavy traffic from Triple IT Junction to Kokapet (GMR Junction). More than one lakh vehicles are plying. Even though there is currently a six-lane road, traffic problems are not avoided. Due to traffic at Triple IT, Wipro, ICICI, and Cient junctions, vehicles are stuck on the roads in large numbers. As all the IT companies are working at the same time, there are traffic jams in the morning and evening. If it rains, traffic from ORR to Gachibowli comes to a standstill.
With this, TGIIC has decided to develop the road. In addition to widening the existing road, special arrangements will be made for sidewalks and cable wires. Engineers say that skywalks will be built at junctions. To this end, TGIIC has undertaken survey work.
Flyovers and underpasses are also being built without signals at the Triple IT intersection. GHMC has planned to do similar work at the Wipro and ICICI Bank intersections. TGIIC has revealed that it will build the longest flyover in the financial district without traffic problems for 30 years. It is said that it will be useful for IT employees going to Nanakramguda Financial District from Nizampet, Miyapur, Hafizpet, Gachibowli, Kondapur, DLF and other areas via the Triple IT intersection. It is said that it will be useful for motorists going to IT companies in the Financial District via the Wipro intersection from Nallagandla, Gopanpally, and Gouli Doddi areas. Also, it will be useful for motorists going to the Neo Police and the Financial District via the Wipro intersection. They say that people from those areas can get on the flyover and reach their offices directly without stopping at the junctions.
