The home department and Telangana government have recently begun to take a very tough stance against social media influencers who support gambling culture and betting applications. Sajjanar of the Firebrand IPS office has been tasked with this duty, and he is appropriately acting decisively in this regard.
Popular travel blogger Bayya Sunny Yadav was recently charged by Suryapet police for using his social media profiles to promote betting applications. When they filed the case against him, the police made it apparent that they would not put up with any influence from social media on the betting culture.
Recently VC Sajjanar has announced that a case has been filed on 11 YouTubers for promoting betting apps on their social media platforms. Apart from Bayya Sunny Yadav and Harsha Sai other influencers have also got notices regarding this case. In this case, City Police has filed a case on Vishnu Priya, Supriya, Imran Khan, Ritu Choudhary, Ajay, Kiran Goud, Tasty Teja, and Sudhir Raju for promoting betting apps.
In this issue Sajjanar said that, “I’m not just up against selective individuals—we, as a society, are battling an entire ecosystem of social media influencers who thrive on promoting betting apps. Whether they have millions of followers or just a few thousand, anyone endorsing these destructive platforms is not just misleading people but actively ruining lives. The real danger goes beyond financial loss—it is the gradual erosion of our nation’s future. While Indian talent is leading global corporations, many young lives are being trapped and derailed by their own countrymen. These apps are not just a personal risk; they are a societal and economic menace, exploiting vulnerabilities and tearing families apart”
Authorities continue to keep an eye on online betting promotions, highlighting the importance of consumer awareness and appropriate digital content.
