16-Coach Vande Bharat Flags Off Between Lucknow and Prayagraj

16-Coach Vande Bharat Flags Off Between Lucknow and Prayagraj

16-Coach Vande Bharat: Indian Railways has made a significant decision to improve passenger convenience by replacing the existing 8-coach Vande Bharat train on the Gorakhpur–Ayodhya–Lucknow–Prayagraj line with a 16-coach variant, which will take effect on June 8, 2025.

Particularly in light of the growing demand on this crowded corridor, this renovation will greatly increase seating capacity and general comfort.

What’s 16-Coach Vande Bharat?

The new Vande Bharat train with 16 coaches includes two executive chair cars for premium travel. Apart from this, 14 general chair cars are also available. This is going to enhance the passenger amenities and also improve the stability and the ride quality.

For all traveler classes, this upgrade makes the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj trip quicker, more comfortable, and more opulent.

Speed Trial Passed:
The new train rake had a successful trial run between Gorakhpur and Nautanwa on June 1 at 110 kmph before its public launch. The mechanical and operations department issued the fitness and full deployment authorization. The current schedule, stops, and route will not alter; just the rake will.

Why Sudden Upgrade?
This decision was taken after the increase in the passenger demand on the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow-Prayagraj line. As the passengers demanded better capacity and comfort government has taken this decision. Also, there is high popularity for the Vande Bharat Express for regional travel, as this is the semi-high-speed travel option for most people. Now, the older Vande Bharat rake, which has eight coaches, will be used somewhere else.
