Kartavya Bhavan, the Common Central Secretariat’s (CCS) first structure, was officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Manohar Lal, the Union Minister of Urban Affairs, attended the event as well. Following the opening of the new facility, which will serve as the new location for the Union Home Ministry and the External Affairs Ministry, the prime minister will speak at a public event on Kartavya Path.
5 Interesting Things About Kartavya Bhavan:
1. PM Narendra Modi has officially opened the first of ten buildings in the Common Central Secretariat (CCS), Kartavya Bhavan. The new secretariat’s goal is to streamline administration, and Bhavan-03 is a part of the Central Vista’s larger makeover.
2. The basement of the Bhavan is 40,000 square meters, while the plinth area is 1.5 lakh square meters. There is space for 600 cars in the parking lot. According to the HUA ministry, Bhavan-03 features a multipurpose hall, a cafe, a kitchen, a medical room, a yoga room, and a creche.
3. Kartavya Bhavan features 67 meeting rooms, 27 elevators, 24 large conference rooms with 45 seats each, and 26 smaller conference rooms with 25 seats each.

4. The Principal Scientific Adviser’s office and the ministries of Home Affairs, External Affairs, MSME, DoPT, Rural Development, and Petroleum & Natural Gas would be housed in the Kartavya Bhavan.
5. This Bhavan will serve as an example of contemporary government infrastructure, which includes centralized command systems, ID card-based access restrictions, integrated electronic surveillance, and safe and IT-ready workspaces.
