Chinese netizens called out this act, and warned the zoo to not do any such practices in future.
The zoo justified this activity by pointing out a similar incident where another zoos dyed a dog to make it look like a panda.
A staff member at the zoo stated, the owner did it just for fun. This is not the first time, a zoo has done such a deception. Last month, another zoo in China went viral for painting chow chow dogs with black and orange stripes to make it look like tigers.

The zoo also admitted that, this was done just for a gimmick. As the social media showed their outrage against animal cruelty, the zoo gave an official statement claiming the dyes used, are non-toxic and is not harmful to the animals in any means.

However, the social media is not turning blind to this matter. The netizens consider this as animal cruelty, and mentioned it’s unfair to the animals and the visitors.

It doesn’t seem like, the animal activists are going to stay calm under this situation. No matter whatever justification the zoo come up with, the animal lovers will find it pointless and silly.

This is not just a matter of animal cruelty, it also brings out the fact that how far can human brain run just to make money and fame!
