Active COVID Cases Cross 4,000: Kerala & Maharashtra on Alert

Active COVID Cases: On Tuesday morning, the number of active coronavirus cases in India surpassed 4,000. As of Tuesday at 8 a.m., the Union Health Ministry’s coronavirus dashboard shows that there are 4,026 current COVID-19 cases in India.


According to these statistics, Kerala (1,416), Maharashtra (494), Gujarat (397), Delhi (393), and West Bengal (372) are the top 5 states in India that have been most impacted by the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

Kerala & Maharashtra on Alert: 


While there have been 37 coronavirus-related deaths to date, 2,700 people have recovered overall. As of June 3, five fatalities have been reported, two in Maharashtra and one each in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal. According to the Health Ministry, the majority of those killed were elderly individuals with illnesses other than COVID-19.

An 80-year-old man in Kerala passed away from the coronavirus. In addition, he had coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), hypertension, and severe pneumonia. Two women, ages 70 and 73, lost their lives to COVID-19 in Maharashtra.

The 73-year-old woman had both diabetes mellitus and hypertension, whereas the 70-year-old woman had both conditions. A 69-year-old man in Tamil Nadu who had Parkinson’s disease and type 2 diabetes passed away as a result of COVID-19. A 43-year-old woman in West Bengal passed away from COVID-19. She already had acute kidney injury, septic shock, and acute coronary syndrome.
