Air India Cancels Multiple Flights:
On June 17, 2025, Air India canceled several international flights due to operational issues following a major incident in Ahmedabad. The cancellations affected many passengers and disrupted their travel plans.
This decision was made after the Ahmedabad plane crash, which resulted in the deaths of 241 passengers and crew members. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) enforced precautionary measures to make sure all aircraft were completely safe before proceeding with their journeys.
Flights Cancelled Due to Precautionary Measures
One of the major cancellations was Air India’s flight AI-159 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick. This flight was canceled due to the unavailability of the aircraft and related airspace restrictions. Consequently, the London to Amritsar flight (AI-170) was also called off on the same day.
Additionally, Air India’s Delhi to Paris flight (AI-143) was canceled after a technical snag was found during its pre-flight checks. The return flight from Paris (AI-142) was subsequently canceled due to operational restrictions.
Some other flights, including Delhi to Dubai (AI-915) and Delhi to Vienna (AI-153), were also canceled. Furthermore, the Mumbai to San Francisco and Bengaluru to London flights were disrupted due to technical issues with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Refunds and Assistance to Affected Passengers
Air India is offering full refunds to passengers whose flights were canceled. Refunds will be processed back to the passengers’ original payments. The airline is also providing flexible rebooking options without additional charges for those who wish to reschedule their journeys. Passengers who made their booking through travel agents or third-party platforms can reach their respective providers for assistance with their cancellations.
