Mumbai Rains: Air India Pilot’s Smooth Landing Goes Viral

Mumbai Airport: On Tuesday, August 19, an Air India pilot received a lot of accolades for successfully landing an aircraft at Mumbai airport despite severe winds and heavy rain. The incident was caught on camera by an onboard passenger, and the footage has now gone viral on social media. The plane is shown in the video descending gently after cutting steadily through choppy weather and landing on the rain-soaked runway with little turbulence.

“Mumbai airport landing in the midst of heavy rains” was the caption for the video, which was posted on X (previously Twitter). Bravo to Captain Neeraj Sethi for making a safe landing despite the poor visibility. The pilot’s cool handling of the aircraft in the face of harsh conditions won him praise from several users, who called him a “true hero.”

Mumbai Rain Havoc:
Mumbai was dealing with one of its worst rainstorms of the season when the landing occurred. On Tuesday, the city was under a red signal from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which warned of heavy rain and wind. Roads in some areas of Mumbai and its suburbs turned into rivers, and traffic came to a complete stop as a result of the flooding.

Air travel was also significantly hampered by the storms. More than 250 planes were impacted on Tuesday, with many being delayed or diverted, according to airport officials. Because operations were still susceptible to unexpected weather changes, travelers were encouraged to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.
