Alekhya Chitti Pickles Trolled: But Why?

Alekhya Chitti Pickles: A startup pickles brand called Alekhya Chitti Pickles was started by three sisters, Alekhya, Chitti, and Ramya. They run their business from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, selling veg and non-veg pickles. They are famous for non-veg pickles, mainly for Chicken, fish, prawns, and crab pickles. Their business gained fame and a name because of their social media promotions through reels and videos on Instagram. But this brand is now facing heavy backlash for its recent incident, which went viral on social media. What is the issue, and what made this brand fall into controversy?

Recent Controversy:
Recently, a customer approached to purchase pickles and sent a “Hi” message on their WhatsApp number. The brand has sent the list of pickles and their rates. Looking at the prices for half a kilo of non-veg pickle around 1200/-, the customer has raised a question, “Why so Expensive?.” In response to that, the brand management has replied in a very arrogant way, filled with insults. They said, “If you think the rates are high, work in four houses,” in an audio message. This audio message was filled with abusive and insulting language. The customer has shared the response on their social media handle, and in a few hours, this went viral. This incident damaged their business and also their image.

Why did people start trolling?
After these audio tapes and a video clip where the sisters were seen talking rudely to the customers, most of the people started trolling them. Many memes and trolling videos are going viral on social media. A user said, “The quality of the mouth is higher than the quality of the pickles.” Because of this trolling, they have switched off their phone number, and also message option has been temporarily closed on their social media accounts. It is also reported that their official website (chittipickles.in) is currently down. According to the sources, due to this controversy, they might have closed their business.
