Amaravati Gets ₹4,285 Crore: The central government has released ₹4,285 crore for the construction of Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh’s capital. This funding includes contributions from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and ₹750 crore from the central government. The Amaravati Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) requested an advance release of 25% of the funds which has now been approved. With this, the stalled infrastructure projects in Amaravati are set to resume.
The railway line will be constructed in two phases:
Phase 1: 27 km from Errupalem in Khammam district.
Phase 2: 56.53 km in total.
A 3.2 km railway bridge over the Krishna River will also be built. The estimated cost for the first phase is ₹800 crore. But land acquisition is facing resistance from some farmers in Tadikonda, delaying progress. Despite this, the government is confident about completing the acquisition within two months.
The Andhra Pradesh government has big plans for Amaravati including:
Smart city infrastructure with global standards.
Advanced road, rail and air connectivity.
Sustainable urban development with eco-friendly planning.
With the renewed support from the central government, Amaravati’s development is back on track and boosting the economy and also creating new job opportunities.
