Amaravati Gets ₹4,285 Crore Central Boost Ahead of PM Modi Visit

Amaravati Gets ₹4,285 Crore: The central government has released ₹4,285 crore for the construction of Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh’s capital. This funding includes contributions from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and ₹750 crore from the central government. The Amaravati Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) requested an advance release of 25% of the funds which has now been approved. With this, the stalled infrastructure projects in Amaravati are set to resume.


PM Modi’s Amaravati Visit: A Key Event
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Amaravati in the third week of April. He will officially restart the construction of the capital. The Andhra Pradesh government is planning a large public meeting near Velagapudi Secretariat across 250 acres. Officials are preparing eight different access routes to manage the large crowd expected. Several key infrastructure projects are also expected to be inaugurated during his visit.
India’s Largest Railway Station in Amaravati
A major highlight of Amaravati’s development is the plan to build India’s largest railway station near Nekkaluru and Pedaparimi. The Andhra Pradesh government has proposed allocating 1,500 acres for the station. This station will be developed with modern infrastructure, similar to an airport.

The railway line will be constructed in two phases:
Phase 1: 27 km from Errupalem in Khammam district.
Phase 2: 56.53 km in total.

A 3.2 km railway bridge over the Krishna River will also be built. The estimated cost for the first phase is ₹800 crore. But land acquisition is facing resistance from some farmers in Tadikonda, delaying progress. Despite this, the government is confident about completing the acquisition within two months.

Advanced road, rail and air connectivity.
Sustainable urban development with eco-friendly planning.

With the renewed support from the central government, Amaravati’s development is back on track and boosting the economy and also creating new job opportunities.
