Pastor Praveen Pagadala Death Mystery

Christian missionary Pastor Praveen Pagadala was murdered on March 24 near Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry)’s Kontamur village. He was riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry when he had an accident. The police inquiry, carried out by Eluru Range DIG Ashok Kumar, found that the pastor was riding at 70 km/h in fourth gear when he lost control of the bike. The accident proved fatal, and he died on the spot instantly.

The inquiry involved interrogation of 92 witnesses, examination of CCTV footage, and forensic information, including the post-mortem report. The report stated the injuries sustained were of the road accident nature and not self-inflicted. Circumstances of the Journey

Pastor Praveen was commuting to Rajahmundry to supervise work on a Bible Mission College he was establishing in Namavaramm village. While cautioned by friends against taking the long motorbike trip and doing so, he opted to drive to Hyderabad. The investigation ascertained that he had telephoned his wife and friends while traveling and had nothing unusual to report.

Addressing Allegations

The police threw out murder charges and said there were no grounds on which to file such allegations. Eleven charges of spreading false rumours were lodged against people who propagated unsubstantiated rumours, one of whom is already behind bars. The government said that dissemination of false rumour would give rise to tension in society and that they will inflict severe punishment on the offender.

The investigation by the Andhra Pradesh police has ultimately cracked the case and re-emphasized their resolve to seek out the truth and rebuild public confidence. Pastor Praveen’s premature demise is a reminder to drive responsibly on the road.
