Andhra Pradesh Government Waives Property Tax for Defence Families

AP property tax exemption :

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has made a significant and compassionate decision. It has announced that property tax will be waived for the residential homes of spouses of defence personnel living in gram panchayat areas. This move honors the sacrifices of soldiers and aims to support their families.

This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He said that soldiers risk their lives to protect the nation, and their families also go through many hardships. To reduce the financial burden on these families, the government has decided to waive the property tax on one house owned or occupied by the spouse of a soldier.

Earlier, this exemption was available only to soldiers who were actively serving at the borders or had retired. But now, the benefit will apply regardless of where the soldier is serving — whether in India or abroad. If the soldier’s family lives in Andhra Pradesh, their house will be eligible for this benefit.

The decision was taken based on the recommendation of the Director of Sainik Welfare. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that this is a small step to express gratitude to those who protect the country. He added that helping their families by reducing tax burden is the least society can do.

This decision will provide much-needed financial relief to many defence families across the state. It is not just a monetary benefit but also a mark of respect and honor for the brave soldiers. Andhra Pradesh has set a great example for other states by showing how governments can support defence families.

By waiving property tax, the government sends a strong message of appreciation. It highlights the value of the armed forces and ensures their families are not forgotten. Such initiatives strengthen the bond between the citizens and the guardians of the nation.

This step is expected to bring comfort and pride to thousands of military families across Andhra Pradesh.
