These centers will be run under the auspices of the Indian Red Cross Society. The existing generic shops are being run under the auspices of self-help groups. The government has also decided to introduce Jan Aushadhi Centers in district hospitals. Through this, quality medicines can be provided to the people at low prices.
There is no need to mention how expensive medicine is in today’s times. Quality services are not available in government hospitals. There is a shortage of staff and medicines. Moreover, quality medicines are not available. The AP government is getting ready to provide a solution to this problem. From now on, it is getting ready to provide quality medicines at low prices in government hospitals . For this, it has decided to operate Jan Aushadhi Medical Shops in all government hospitals. This was revealed by Medical and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav.
Satya Kumar Yadav said that the government has decided to provide quality generic medicines at the lowest prices for the benefit of patients visiting government hospitals for treatment. He revealed that for this, Jan Aushadhi Kendras will be set up in general hospitals . He said that these will be run under the auspices of the non-profit Indian Red Cross Society. Currently, the operators of generic medical shops in GGHs are selling these medicines at a profit of 50 to 600 percent in some cases, said Medical and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav.
Satyakumar Yadav said that currently there are 23 private generic medicine stores in 16 GGHs, but there is no such store in Nandyal GGH. He said that the proposal made by the non-profit Indian Red Cross Society to operate generic medicine shops in government hospitals has been approved. Satyakumar Yadav also revealed that it is mandatory to prevent the sale of medicines without prescription.
The existing 23 generic shops have been allocated to self-help groups and other associations. However, it is known that private individuals are running them with huge profits, alleged Satyakumar Yadav. He also ordered the introduction of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in district hospitals. Minister Satyakumar Yadav approved the proposal to introduce Jan Aushadhi Kendras in 17 government general hospitals.
Similarly, keeping in mind the benefits to the patients, the officials were instructed to examine the possibility of organizing them in area and district hospitals as well. The Indian Red Cross Society will have to obtain appropriate permissions for these Jan Aushadhi Kendras to be introduced in government general hospitals. Collectors will be the chairmen of the district level branches of the Indian Red Cross Society.
