Australian Actress Seeks Rs 1.6 Crore to Cryogenically Preserve Son After Suicide

Cryogenically preserve son after suicide: Clare McCann, an Australian actress and filmmaker, is trying to raise Rs 1.6 crore (around \$300,000) to cryogenically preserve the body of her 13-year-old son, Atreyu, who recently died by suicide. She claims he suffered from continuous bullying at his school in New South Wales (NSW). According to her, she has only seven days to arrange the money or the chance for her son “to live again” will be lost forever.

Cryogenically preserve son after suicide:

Cryopreservation is the process of preserving a body or biological material at extremely low temperatures. The goal is to prevent tissue damage and possibly revive the individual in the future if technology allows. Clare believes this is the only way she can give her son a second chance at life.

She has started a GoFundMe campaign and has already raised nearly Rs 4 lakh. On the fundraising page, Clare explains how the money will be used. It will go toward the cryopreservation procedure, legal permissions, medical expenses, and creating a trust in Atreyu’s name. Any extra funds will be used for anti-bullying awareness, legal action, and support for other affected families.

Clare shared that she had repeatedly warned the school and government departments about the bullying, but no action was taken. She has medical records and psychological reports proving Atreyu was suffering. Despite her efforts, she says, no one helped, and now her son is gone.

She also revealed that cryogenics was something she and her son had discussed years ago. Atreyu had once told her he would want to be preserved in case something happened to him, so they could never be separated.

Clare says she will use her public platform to raise awareness about bullying and bring change to prevent such tragedies from happening again. Her emotional appeal highlights not just a mother’s love, but also the urgent need for stronger systems to protect children.
