You can register online either through the official National Health Authority (NHA) website or by downloading the Ayushman Bharat mobile app.
To begin the registration process, visit the NHA portal, enter your mobile number, and verify it using OTP (One-Time Password). On the portal, click on the section for senior citizens (70 years and above), and provide your Aadhaar number along with other necessary details. After entering the required information, you’ll complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process by authenticating with your Aadhaar OTP. A recent photograph is also required for verification. Once your application is approved, you can download the Ayushman card in just 15 minutes.
For those who prefer using a mobile app, Ayushman Bharat also offers a convenient application process through its mobile app. Start by downloading the Ayushman Bharat app on your smartphone. After registering with your mobile number, you will be prompted to verify your details using OTP. You will then need to enter your Aadhaar information, along with a recent photograph, and complete the registration for e-KYC. Once all steps are successfully completed, your Ayushman card will be available for immediate download.
The Ayushman Bharat card is primarily available to senior citizens aged 70 years or older, but the scheme also benefits other groups under the same umbrella. If senior citizens are already enrolled in other public health insurance schemes like CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) or ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme), they can either continue with their existing coverage or opt for the Ayushman Bharat scheme for additional benefits.
This scheme provides not only financial relief but also guarantees that senior citizens will have access to the medical care they need without the stress of high medical bills.
