Baisaran Photographer Records Full Pahalgam Attack, Helps NIA Investigation

Full Pahalgam Attack: A local videographer from Baisaran, who usually records videos for tourists, has become an important witness for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the investigation of the Pahalgam terror attack that happened on April 22, 2025.

Full Pahalgam Attack:
According to officials, the videographer managed to capture the full attack on his camera. When the firing started, he ran for his life and climbed up a tree for safety. Even while hiding, he continued recording the entire incident. The NIA is now analyzing his footage to identify the terrorists involved and any local helpers.

What Happened During the Attack

Initial findings show that four terrorists, divided into two groups, started shooting from opposite sides of the meadow. Two of them hid behind snack shops. Around 2:30 pm, they came out and asked some non-local tourists about their religion. Some were asked to recite religious verses, and those who couldn’t were shot dead.

Officials believe the attack was targeted, not random. The terrorists aimed at the heads of their victims to ensure fatal shots. After the first two terrorists killed four tourists, the other two attackers opened fire on the people trying to escape.

Phones Snatched and Weapons Used

During the chaos, the terrorists also grabbed two mobile phones — one from a tourist and one from a local. Authorities are tracking these devices, but they have been switched off since the attack.

Investigators recovered empty shells of AK-47 and M4 rifles at the scene. The use of M4 rifles suggests involvement of Pakistani terrorists, as these weapons became common among them after the Afghanistan war.

A Local Terrorist Suspected

Officials believe one of the attackers is a local youth, Adil Thokar. He was reportedly radicalized in 2018 and later joined terror groups after training in Pakistan. Thokar is suspected to have helped Pakistani terrorists with logistics and planning attacks after returning to Kashmir in 2024.

The NIA is continuing its probe, using eyewitness accounts and technical evidence to track down all those involved.
