Recently, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, expressed his admiration once again for the late Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. Gates shared some interesting conversations spoke about his relationship with Jobs, and discussed how different both of them were. Steve Jobs once asked Gates to work on better designing Microsoft products.

Talking to The Independent, Bill Gates humorously said, “Steve Jobs once told me that he wished I’d take acid because then maybe I would have had more taste in the design of my products”. “My response was to say, “Look, I got the wrong batch, I got the coding batch, and this guy got the marketing-design batch, so good for him! Because of his talents and mine, other than being kind of an energetic leader, and pushing the limits, they didn’t overlap much. He wouldn’t know what a line of code meant, and his ability to think about design and marketing and things like that… I envy those skills. I’m not in his league,” he added.

Gates also said that he was into recreational drug use during his school and college days but stopped as he wanted his mind to be open and logical. He described himself as a pragmatic thinker, who focuses more on structured problem-solving than mind-altering substances to strengthen his innovations.

Bill Gates remained the wealthiest man from 1995 to 2017, except for 2008 and between 2010-2013. Steve Jobs, the co-creator of popular Apple products like the iPhone, iPad, iPod, and others is known for his innovations and global impact.
