BLA IED Attacks on Pakistan Army: 14 Soldiers Killed

Pakistan has suffered another setback in the form of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in two separate attacks by separatists in Balochistan. The BLA claimed responsibility for the attacks in the Bolan and Kech areas. The BLA warned that the Pakistani army has become a contract force for China and that attacks on the undemocratic army that is plundering Baloch territory will continue. The country has been choked by a series of attacks on the Pakistani army in recent times.

Pakistan, which is already reeling from India’s Operation Sindoor, has suffered another setback in the form of BLA. 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in attacks by Baloch separatists on Thursday morning. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Bolan and Kech areas of Balochistan provinces. 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in these attacks. A similar incident took place two weeks ago . 10 people were killed when the BLA blew up a Pakistani military vehicle with an IED.

14 Pakistan soldiers killed in two separate attacks

First, a Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) of the BLA attacked a Pakistani army convoy with a remote-controlled IED bomb in the Much and Shorkand areas of Bolan. 12 soldiers, including Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran and Subedar Umar Farooq, were killed in the blast. The military vehicle was completely destroyed. Also, Baloch fighters attacked a bomb disposal squad that was demining mines in the Kulag Tigran area of Kech district with a remote IED bomb. The attack took place at 2:40 pm on Wednesday, in which two soldiers were killed. It is known that the BLA hijacked a train in which soldiers were traveling in March.

Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson Zeyand Baloch issued a statement on these attacks. “Those who accuse the Baloch Liberation Army of working for foreign interests should know that the Pakistani army has become a contract force for various systems, dependent on Chinese capital. The Pakistani army, which always follows its masters, is not a national army, but a commercial army. The attacks of BLA fighters on the undemocratic army that plunders the occupied territory of Pakistan will only intensify,” he warned.

Focus on the Balochistan issue

The recent attacks have highlighted the separatism of Balochistan. Separatist groups there have long been fighting for independence. They allege political oppression, economic exploitation, and human rights violations. There is criticism that Balochistan, rich in natural resources, is being plundered by Islamabad’s rulers and foreign companies. Locals are forced to live in poverty. Moreover, the heavy military deployment is seen by the people as oppression rather than protection. This is increasing local opposition and leading to uprisings.
