Book Vande Bharat Just 15 Minutes Before Depature: Here’s How

Vande Bharat Tickets: Indian Railways has announced that passengers can now book Vande Bharat tickets up to 15 minutes before the train’s departure. The authorities have introduced this real-time reservation facility to enhance passenger convenience and optimize seat occupancy. This system will especially benefit passengers making last-minute travel plans. The Railways has confirmed that passengers can access this booking facility both online and at station counters on the respective routes.

Real-Time Reservation System:
Indian Railways recently introduced this new ticket booking system. In Kerala, the Railways has implemented the real-time booking option for the Thiruvananthapuram–Mangalore and Mangalore–Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat trains running via the Alappuzha route. Previously, passengers could book tickets only before the train’s departure. Now, the Railways allow passengers to book tickets even after the train has left its originating station. This facility enables passengers to reserve vacant seats while traveling on the route, offering significant convenience for those boarding mid-journey.

Upcoming Other Routes:
The Railways has extended the real-time ticket booking system to other key Vande Bharat routes beyond Kerala. These include the Chennai–Nagercoil, Nagercoil–Chennai, Coimbatore–Bengaluru, Mangalore–Madgaon, Madurai–Bengaluru, and Chennai–Vijayawada routes. Currently, this system covers a total of eight Vande Bharat Express trains across eight railway zones. The initiative aims to streamline journeys and ensure better utilization of available seats in premium trains.

Increase in Seat Occupancy:
This significant change by Indian Railways is expected to substantially improve seat occupancy across the Vande Bharat network. It will also offer added flexibility for passengers making spontaneous travel decisions. The system enhances the overall travel experience on this semi-high-speed train and marks a step toward a more efficient and passenger-friendly railway service. According to railway officials, real-time bookings are now available 15 minutes before Vande Bharat trains depart. Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of this facility.
