China backs Pakistan against India

It was hardly a day that Pakistan had broken the ceasefire when Beijing released a statement. China reiterating its constant backing to Islamabad. The release of the statement has raised eyebrows among diplomats because it came a day after news broke out about fresh drone strikes and shelling along the India-Pakistan border.

India’s Response to Ceasefire Violation

India has strongly criticized Pakistan’s response as “extremely condemnable.” Indian troops have been ordered to retaliate aggressively if ceasefire is once again violated. With military operations already underway along the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian government has also re-emphasized the position that an attack on Indian territory will be treated as a war-like aggression.

The existing tensions are the culmination of the Pahalgam terror attack when 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. India had retaliated with Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine major terror infrastructure centers in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was meant to disrupt terror networks rather than involve military provocation.
