Dal Makhani Stirred by JCB? Internet Reacts With Shock

Dal makhani, a creamy regional North Indian dish made from rajma and urad dal, is a beloved food known for its buttery taste, especially as a wedding dish or to celebrate a special occasion. Recently a video went viral of something peculiar—a JCB machine stirring dal makhani in a huge pot.

Uncommon way of Cooking

The video shows a JCB stirring dal makhani, a construction machine usually reserved for building projects. The large machine moves back and forth using its shovel (instead of a ladle or spoon), mixing the dal. The video shows an oily layer floating on the Daly, but the ingredient is hidden.

Reactions on Social Media

The person filming jokes about how people have seen JCBs doing road and park work but never eating food. He humorously states, even, “Yamraj” (the Hindu god of death) may have bigger pans than this.

Many users on social media thought it was funny/odd, while others expressed concerns about food safety. One user sarcastically said, “Oil grease with gravy is free,” and another added, “Playing with public’s health.”

One user commented, “Half an hour ago this JCB was cleaning drains; they are now using it to stir dal.” Many users pointed out this is very unsafe and unhygienic.

Hygiene Concerns

Cooking with construction gear raises serious hygiene concerns. JCB’s aren’t designed for food, and may be covered with dust or harmful residue. Foodies question whether this cooking method presents health risks.

Why a JCB?

The video doesn’t explain why a JCB was used to stir dal makhani. Maybe it was for publicity, or maybe it was cooking an immense quantity at once, but this sight is unquestionably a bit bewildering and leaves many foodies wondering.

Though the video adds some levity; it also reminds us to consider food safety. All methods of cooking should adhere to hygienic practices and protect individuals health.
