Delhi Weather Chaos: Over 15 Flights Diverted Due to Dust Storm

Delhi Weather Chaos: A severe dust storm in Delhi on Friday caused major disruptions at the airport. Due to the strong winds and poor weather, more than 15 flights were diverted at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). The sudden weather change led to flight delays and schedule changes for passengers.

Delhi Weather Chaos:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Delhi and surrounding regions. The alert warned people about potential risks from strong winds and low visibility due to the dust storm.

Major airlines such as Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet issued travel advisories. They informed passengers about delays and diversions in flight operations caused by the storm. The airlines advised travelers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) posted on X (formerly Twitter) that due to bad weather conditions, some flights were affected. They asked passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for updates.

Air India reported that the weather disturbance impacted flight services across Northern India. They added that some of their flights to and from Delhi were either delayed or rerouted.

IndiGo also shared updates, saying both Delhi and Jaipur were facing difficulties due to the storm. Takeoffs and landings were delayed, causing air traffic congestion and increasing the chance of schedule changes.

Passengers traveling on the day faced inconvenience, but safety measures were put in place to avoid risks. Airline staff and airport authorities worked together to manage the situation and ensure passenger safety.

The orange alert from the IMD highlights the seriousness of the weather pattern. It signals a warning to people in the area and around as well to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel until the weather improves.
