Dubai Millionaire Lottery: An Indian immigrant from Kerala, residing in Dubai, has won a $1 million lottery prize. Sixty-year-old Paul Jose Mavely claimed the top spot in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw. Meanwhile, the organizers have been unable to contact the Pakistani winner and, as a result, have not yet notified him of his win. Notably, this marks the second time in less than a decade that an Indian national has secured this prestigious prize.
Dubai Duty Free (DDF) announced on Wednesday that Mavely, who purchased ticket number 3532 online on May 19, won the Millennium Millionaire Series 503. Impressively, Mavely, who has lived in Dubai for 38 years, also won the same prize in November 2016, making him just the 11th individual in the promotion’s history to win it twice.

In 2016, he split the prize money and ticket cost with nine other friends. This time around, he divided the ticket price among 17 friends who had been participating in the Dubai Duty Free drawings since 1999, rotating names on the ticket for each draw. Following the announcement of his latest win, Mavely, the winner, shared his reaction. He told Gulf media, “I’m very thankful to Dubai Duty Free for this second win in your amazing promotion.”

What is the Dubai Duty Free Millionaire Draw?
Dubai Duty Free launched the Millennium Millionaire lottery program in 1999, offering players the chance to win up to $1 million. To improve the odds for participants, the organizers cap each draw at just 5,000 tickets. Players can purchase tickets online through the Dubai Duty Free website or at duty-free stores in Dubai International Airport for AED 1,000 (approximately ₹22,700), excluding 5% VAT. Importantly, the draw is open to individuals of all nationalities. Moreover, the draw takes place twice a month, and participants do not need to be present in Dubai to win.
