Earthquake warning in Telangana: Alert for THESE districts

Earthquake warning in Telangana: There has been panic in Telangana after an organization issued a warning of a possible earthquake near Ramagundam. However, this warning has not been confirmed by government sources or scientific organizations. Officials say that it is not scientifically possible to predict earthquakes in advance. In the past, minor earthquakes have occurred here, but they have not caused significant damage. However, it is good for people to be alert.

An announcement that an earthquake is likely to occur in the Telangana region is causing concern among the people. Based on their studies, an organization called Earthquake Research and Analysis has indicated that an earthquake is likely to occur in the areas around Ramagundam. It has also been stated that it can occur any day between April 10 and April 17.

Alert for THESE districts

They state that the impact of this earthquake is likely to spread to Hyderabad, Warangal, and Amaravati in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh. This announcement is creating a kind of fear among the people across Telangana.

Earthquake warning in Telangana: Real?

However, these earthquake warnings have not been confirmed by official government sources or recognized scientific organizations. Officials have made it clear that it is not possible to accurately predict earthquakes in advance with current scientific knowledge.

They say that such speculative indications are far from reality in most cases. The states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are in Zone 2 and 3 according to seismic zones. The risk of earthquakes in these zones is very low. Although some minor earthquakes have occurred in the region in the past, no serious damage has been caused by them.

Although unofficial information is circulating about the possibility of a major earthquake in Ramagundam and its surrounding areas, experts suggest that it is better to be alert in case of earthquakes. However, officials from the central India Meteorological Department (IMD) are appealing to the public not to get unnecessarily panicked over information that has no official confirmation.

History

If we look at the past history of the Telugu states, there are very few records of major earthquakes here. On rare occasions, minor earthquakes have caused some fear among the people. In 1969, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred in the Ongole area of Prakasam district. At that time, it created some tremors in the state.

After that, In 1998, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 shook the Adilabad district of Telangana. Small earthquakes also occurred in Hyderabad city in the years 1984, 1999, and 2013. However, no property damage was caused by them. Only people were panicked. Also, There are records of occasional tremors in the areas surrounding Srisailam Dam. Since it is still not scientifically possible to accurately predict the arrival of earthquakes.. it is always better to take precautionary measures.
