NIMS Hyderabad: On Saturday, the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Punjagutta had a fire in its emergency wing. Equipment was damaged, but no casualties were reported.
According to the information that is currently available, the ward, which is situated on the fifth floor of the hospital building, is suspected of having caught fire due to a short circuit. Management was notified by those on the hospital grounds, and they contacted the fire control room. After the fire engine and department personnel arrived on the scene, the smoke and fire were contained. It was necessary to estimate the amount of damaged material.

Health Minister Response:
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha inquired about the NIMS fire incident. He spoke to hospital director Beerappa over the phone and collected the details. Officials explained that a short circuit started in the non-patient area near the auditorium on the fifth floor of the NIMS emergency building. As soon as the staff noticed the smoke, they acted quickly to stop the fire from spreading. The fire didn’t cause any injuries. Hospital sources also confirmed that the fire didn’t damage any property. Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha advised the officials to stay alert, as the risk of fire accidents increases during summer.
