Ganesh Chathurthi 2025: Hyderabad metropolis is getting ready for the Vinayaka Navratri celebrations. Like every year, this year too, the Ganesh festival is going to be celebrated with great pomp. As part of this, thousands of Ganesh mandapams will be set up in the city. No matter how many mandals are set up, no matter how big the Ganesh idol is, it is special for everyone. In this context, the Ganesh idol with the theme of “Operation Sindhur” stands out as a special attraction. That Ganesh idol will appear to all of us like an Indian soldier. and will be ready to receive worship during Navratri.
The Uppuguda Sri Mallikarjun Nagar Youth Welfare Association, which installs Ganesh idols in an innovative way every year. They have come up with a special theme this time too. It is the theme of “Operation Sindoor-Themed Ganesh Idol”. This year, a special Ganesh idol is going to be installed with this theme. This idol, created by local artists, is attractive. Ganesh has been made in the form of an Air Force officer, and Brahmos, S-400 rifles, and army models have been installed around him. The organizers said that the design of this idol cost about ₹6 lakh.
Srikanth, the organizer of Sri Mallikarjuna Nagar Youth Welfare Association, said, “We placed an order for this special idol two months ago and the idol was delivered to us on August 15. We got the Ganapaiya made in the style of an Air Force officer with the theme of Operation Sindhur. And we have also made a 20-minute video on Operation Sindhur. We are going to show it to the devotees during the Navratri festivities.”
They said that every year they install Ganapaya in a new concept. Also in 2023 they installed a Chandrayaan model Ganesha. This time, they chose the theme of Operation Sindhur with the intention of increasing devotion to God as well as patriotism. The organizers explained that their aim is to inform the devotees visiting this mandapam about the importance of Operation Sindhur and the power of Indian weapons.
As part of the Operation Sindhur theme, posters depicting key moments in India’s military history are also being displayed. These include events like the Indo-Pak wars, the liberation of Bangladesh, the Kargil War, the Uri attack, the Pulwama attack, and Operation Sindhur in 2025. The statue, which is innovative, technological, and military-inspired, is a major attraction for devotees in Uppuguda. Devotees are all set to have darshan of Lord Ganesha with a grand welcome.
