Good news for Hyderabad Metro commuters. Now you can get off the Metro train and reach home without having to cross the roads while struggling in traffic. Here’s why!….
The Metro has given permission to build a skywalk directly for the huge residential complexes being built near the LB Nagar Metro Station. On the other hand, a wide skywalk is planned to be built between Nagole and LB Nagar Metro stations. Also, a skywalk will also be built on the Old City Metro route.
To escape the traffic problem in Hyderabad, many people are resorting to the Metro Rail. However, even after getting off the Metro Rail, they have to face the traffic on the road again every day to reach their destination. This is the reason, metro is planning to build wide skywalks in those areas so that they do not have to struggle in the traffic by getting off the Metro and crossing the road.
However, it is known that direct skywalks have already been built for shopping malls next to some Metro stations. Similarly, it seems that the government is now allowing the construction of skywalks for large apartments being built by real estate companies. With this, once you get off the Metro, you can go directly home without any traffic problems.
It is known that in November last year, a private mall in Kukatpally built a direct skywalk from the metro station with the permission of the Metro.
Recently, the company has permitted to build a skywalk from the metro station for a large housing community being built near the LB Nagar metro station. Thus, the construction company will build the skywalk at its own expense. If this skywalk is completed, the people living in those towers will have the opportunity to go directly from their homes to the metro station, get off the metro train, and go directly home.

On the other hand, as part of the second phase of the metro, the company plans to build wide skywalks at several places so that passengers can easily reach the metro stations and go from the stations to other places. They are planning to build a wide skywalk from the new metro station to be built at Nagole on the Nagole-Airport route towards LB Nagar. For the convenience of passengers, it has been decided to build a wide skywalk connecting both Nagole and LB Nagar stations.
Also, it has been decided to build another wide skywalk connecting the newly constructed LB Nagar (Airport) Metro station and the existing LB Nagar Metro station on Corridor-1. Through this skywalk, those who get off at LB Nagar will have the opportunity to go directly to LB Nagar (Airport) station and easily reach the airport.
On the other hand, the government is also planning to build wide skywalks in crowded places on the Old City Metro route. The 7.5 km corridor from MGBS to Chandrayangutta will have a metro line from near Salar Jung Museum and Charminar. Two metro stations will be built in those areas. While the number of tourists visiting these historical sites is always high, it is planned to construct wide skywalks between these two stations.
