Rain Alert in Telangana: Good news for Telangana farmers. This time the southwest monsoon is going to hit the state earlier. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials are predicting that the onset will be earlier than expected. They said that the southwest monsoon is likely to enter Kerala by May 27. After that, the monsoon will enter Telangana in the first week of June itself. Officials have estimated that due to the surface depression formed in the southeast Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas, there is a chance of widespread rains in Telangana as well as many parts of South India in the coming days.
Hyderabad Meteorological Department officer K. Nagaratna revealed that a surface depression has formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas. He said that light to moderate rains are likely to occur in many parts of Telangana in the next four days. Along with thunder and lightning, gusty winds with a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour will blow. To this extent, the authorities have issued a yellow alert. Due to this, the daytime temperatures are likely to drop by 3-4 degrees Celsius.
Today, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal districts will receive rain. Tomorrow (May 20), Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal districts will receive moderate to heavy rains with thunder and lightning. To this extent, a yellow alert has been issued for the respective districts. Today, Hyderabad city will also receive light rains. The southwest monsoon is moving actively and the sun is expected to decrease by the end of this month.
On Sunday, rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad. Although the sun was intense in the morning, the weather changed suddenly in the evening. Light showers lashed several parts of the city. Water stood on the roads due to rain in places like Kondapur, Kukatpally, Medchal, Secunderabad, and LB Nagar. This caused some disruption in vehicular traffic, causing inconvenience to commuters. Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed Bengaluru city. The city has received about 40 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. In some areas, water entered houses and submerged goods.
