Heavy Rains to Hit Hyderabad: Places to be affected

IMD authorities warned that lightning, winds of 40 to 50 kmph, and even hailstorms in some places will accompany thunderstorms. “The incoming rain is expected to provide much-needed relief from the scorching heat, with temperatures soaring past 41° Celsius in several parts of the state,” according to an official.


Places to be affected:

An orange signal has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for many Telangana districts, warning of severe thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall in the days ahead. While the remainder of Telangana is under a yellow warning, Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Medak, and Kamareddy are under an orange alert.

The state’s districts of Adilabad, Komarambhim Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy are expected to experience isolated hailstorms with thunder, lightning, and strong winds (wind speed 40-50 Kmph) on Thursday, April 3. The districts have been placed under orange alert, while Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts have been placed under yellow alert.


Heavy Rains & Thunderstorms:

According to the sources, Telangana would have heavy thunderstorms starting on April 2, with the worst conditions anticipated in North Telangana on April 3 and 4. “Intense storms will also impact Central and South Telangana later in the period,” he stated. At least two strong thunderstorms are predicted to hit Hyderabad during this time. Residents have been advised by authorities to exercise caution and heed official cautions.
