Mahitapuram Falls is located amidst dense forests and rocky cliffs. During the monsoon season, the waterfall flows violently, creating a magnificent view of greenery. The waterfall looks even more beautiful in the backdrop of the heavy rains currently falling. You can reach the waterfall by doing a short trek through the forest paths. Mahitapuram Waterfall is located in Venkatapuram, Mulugu district. It is about 280 km from Hyderabad. As local transport facilities are poor, it is better to go in your own vehicle. Adventure groups also organize trekking tours here from Hyderabad. Usually, Mahitapuram Waterfall and some other nearby waterfalls are taken as packages.
The best time to visit Mahitapuram Falls is during the monsoon season and the months following the monsoon. But caution is essential. During the monsoon season, the water flow becomes high and it becomes dangerous. Authorities have warned to be careful here several times. So, it is better to plan a safe trip when the weather is favorable. Most importantly, it is better not to go to such places alone under any circumstances.
