Holi 2025: Strict orders for Hyderabad residents

The Hyderabad police have taken preemptive steps to guarantee a fun and safe celebration for everyone as the Holi holiday comes near. Authorities are eager to minimize any disturbances and preserve public order during the celebrations, which are scheduled for March 14.


Two orders were issued by the Hyderabad police, prohibiting specific movements and stating that breaking the rules would result in legal action. In addition, the police have announced that because of Holi, all of the city’s liquor stores will stay closed.

1. Causing discomfort by spraying individuals with color on public roadways and in public areas or by throwing colored water or colors on unknowing people, places, and cars.


2. Prohibit two-wheelers and other vehicles from moving in groups on streets and in public areas as this may disrupt the peace and order and/or put the public at risk.

According to the police, this order will be in effect in Hyderabad from 6 p.m. on March 13, 2025, to 6 a.m. on March 15, 2025. Due to the 2025 Holi festival, the order will be in effect in Cyberabad from 6 a.m. on March 14 to 6 a.m. on March 15.

The advice stated: “The public is now informed that any individual who violates the aforementioned order shall be subject to prosecution for breach under Sec.76 of ‘The Hyderabad City Police, Act 1348 Fasli.”

Hyderabad liquor stores will stay closed

Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu recently announced that all liquor stores would be shuttered on Holi day. The closure will take place on March 14 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in an effort to avoid any occurrences involving alcohol that would detract from the festival’s spirit.

According to the directive, restaurants’ related bars, wine shops, and toddy shops would all be closed. However, businesses associated with registered clubs and star hotels will continue to operate from 4 PM.
