Honeymoon Murder: To make connections in the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, a team of Meghalaya police on Tuesday went to an apartment in Indore city where the primary suspect, Sonam, is thought to have taken refuge for a few days following the crime in the northeastern state.
“A Meghalaya police team went to the apartment in the Dewas Naka neighborhood. We have learned that Raghuvanshi’s wife, Sonam, spent a few days hiding in this apartment following his murder. A local police official told PTI that the woman was nabbed after traveling to Uttar Pradesh.
According to him, Meghalaya police officers may also conduct investigations at the accused’s homes in Indore and take statements from Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam’s relatives.

In connection with the May 23 murder of Raghuvanshi while he and Sonam were on vacation in Meghalaya, Raghuvanshi’s wife Sonam, her accused lover Raj Kushwah (20), and three of Kushwah’s friends, Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi, have been placed under arrest On June 2, Raghuvanshi’s disfigured body was discovered in a steep ravine close to a waterfall in the East Khasi Hills district’s Sohra region (also called Cherrapunji).
Businessman Shilom James, who owns an Indore property management company, stated four days ago that one of the accused, Vishal Chauhan, had visited with him on May 30 and rented a flat in the Dewas Naka neighborhood for Rs 17,000 a month. Sonam is charged with returning to Indore after the murder and spending a few days in this apartment.
