A Hyderabad doctor was detained after reportedly purchasing cocaine valued at Rs five lakh, according to the police. Six months ago, Namrata Chigurupati, the former CEO of Omega Hospitals, was detained while receiving narcotics via courier from Vansh Dhakkar, a supplier headquartered in Mumbai.
What Happened in Hyderabad Doctor Case:
She was apprehended alongside Balakrishna, Dhakkar’s assistant, who was bringing the drugs. Chigurupati, 34, ordered cocaine worth Rs 5 lakh from Dhakkar after contacting him on WhatsApp, according to the police. Online, she made the switch. “A doctor named Namrata had ordered medication from Vansh, whom she knew in Mumbai. At Rayadurgam, a man named Balakrishna arrived to deliver the narcotics and gave them to her, according to senior police officer Venkanna.

“Police found and apprehended them. They were found in possession of two cell phones, 53 grams of cocaine, and Rs 10,000 in cash,” he continued. According to Mr. Venkanna, they have been placed in judicial detention after cases under the applicable laws were filed against them. She allegedly admitted to spending almost Rs 70 lakh on drugs over time while being questioned.
