Hyderabad: Good news for motorists in Hyderabad city. Traffic woes will soon be over. GHMC has prepared plans for new flyovers and expansion of roads in the city. A field survey has been conducted to identify the areas where work needs to be undertaken. The work will start soon, and the expansion will be carried out to check traffic problems.
Everyone knows the traffic issues in Hyderabad city. In the morning and evening, vehicles are stuck for kilometers at some major signals. Motorists are stuck in the traffic and face serious problems. In this context, GHMC is ready to undertake road expansion work with the aim of eliminating traffic woes for motorists in the city.
The Town Planning Department has recently conducted a field survey in several areas of the city, including Old City and Hi-Tech City. It is calculating how far, which road should be widened and how many structures will have to be removed. The GHMC Engineering Department has made it clear that the tender process will be initiated and the work will start after this process is completed.
The Hi-Tech City, one of the busiest roads in Hyderabad, will be widened from the railway station to Cyber Towers Road. The road from the NIA building to the Cyber Towers flyover is set to be widened by 120 feet. Officials said that this road work will be completed within the next month.
Under H-City, it is planned to widen the road from Bangalore National Highway to Shastripuram Junction in Old City by 100 feet and from there to Engine Bowli. The GHMC is preparing plans with an estimated cost of Rs. 543 crore. Road widening work will be undertaken from Banjara Hills Road No. 1 to Road No. 12 and up to Jubilee Checkpost intersection. To this end, the speed of land acquisition has been increased. While a total of 306 properties have to be acquired, some measurements have already been taken. These works will also start soon.
GHMC officials have prepared plans to widen the roads connecting Masjid Banda to HCU Road in Kondapur by 100 feet. The construction of a flyover has been started between Triple IT intersection and Wipro Junction. Plans have been prepared to construct a flyover connecting the ring road at Neopolis. GHMC is ready to widen the roads from Chandrayangutta X-road to Barkas, from Balapur Main Road to Malakpet, from Nakripoolbagh to GHMC Zonal Office, and from Tulsinagar to Ghouse nagar at a cost of Rs. 320 crore. If these roads are made available, traffic can move without any problems.
