It is known that there are stairs to go from one side of the road to the other in Hyderabad Metro stations. However, Hyderabad Metro officials said that they are not just for metro passengers. They said that any city dweller can use them. People are allowed to cross the road at a total of 57 stations and are advised to cross the road without any difficulty.
Everyone knows the level of traffic congestion in Hyderabad city. Vehicles rush onto the roads in the blink of an eye. Those who walk have to take a dangerous adventure to get from one pipe to the other. Although there are foot over bridges in some areas, in other places they have to cross the road dangerously. At such times, no matter how careless they are, they are bound to get involved in road accidents. Many people have lost their lives in such accidents.
In this context, Hyderabad Metro officials made a key announcement. They said that there is a possibility to reach from one side of the road to the other from the metro station. They said that not only metro passengers, anyone can use it to cross the road. They said that there will also be a lift facility for the elderly and the disabled, so they can cross the road without any difficulty. They said that facilities are available at each of the 57 metro stations in the three existing corridors. Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy revealed that permission has also been given to build skywalks from metro stations to commercial buildings and residential complexes nearby.
He said that L&T Metro Rail has currently constructed skywalks from Punjagutta, Hitech City and Erramanzil metro stations to nearby malls. He said that a skywalk has been made available connecting JBS and Parade Grounds stations without the need to cross the road. He said that there is a skywalk from Secunderabad Metro Station to Rathifile Bus Stand and Railway Station easily. Metro officials said that a huge gated community named Vasavi Ananda Nilayam is being constructed next to LB Nagar Metro Station. He said that they have come forward to construct a skywalk from the metro station to their gated community. Interested private companies are advised to contact L&T Metro Rail officials.
