India BrahMos Strike Stopped Pakistan Planned Attack: Shehbaz Sharif

India BrahMos Strike:

Tensions between India and Pakistan rose sharply after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, which killed 26 people. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Over 100 terrorists were reportedly killed, and several camps were destroyed.

India BrahMos Strike:

Just days later, on the night of May 9-10, Pakistan had planned to launch a military strike against India. According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, their forces were ready to carry out the operation after early morning prayers. However, before the attack could happen, India fired BrahMos missiles at multiple locations in Pakistan, including the Rawalpindi airport. This pre-emptive strike disrupted Pakistan’s plans and caused serious damage.

Sharif revealed this during a public speech, admitting that the Indian missile attacks came before Pakistan could respond. He stated that India acted first and hit key targets, forcing Pakistan to reconsider its planned offensive.

India’s Operation Sindoor involved the use of drones, missiles, and long-range weapons, leading to four days of intense clashes. Indian airstrikes also targeted eight Pakistani airbases, including Murid and Nur Khan. These strikes damaged runways, hangars, radar systems, and weapon storage areas.

The operation was seen as a strong warning to Pakistan, showing that India was ready to take tough action after the Pahalgam attack. Later, both countries agreed to stop further attacks and avoid a full-scale war.

India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, stated that while Operation Sindoor was successful, India could have done even more if necessary. He emphasized that India will not tolerate terrorism and is prepared to act again if needed.

This series of events has once again highlighted the fragile relationship between India and Pakistan. Although fighting has stopped for now, the situation remains tense and both nations are closely watching each other’s moves.
