The Indian Army effectively prevented the Indian Army from attacking Indian military bases with missiles and drones on several borders in Jammu Kashmir, Rajasthan and Punjab. It shot down two Pakistani fighter jets in Pathankot and one jet in Jaisalmer. The army has taken one pilot into custody.
Pakistan, the cousin of terrorists, is unable to digest the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor and its attacks on militant camps. As a result, it committed another misadventure on Thursday night. It launched missiles, suicide drones, and fighter jets against India in retaliation. It tried to attack the border states of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab. The Indian Army effectively thwarted Pakistan’s plots by targeting Jammu Airport and several military posts along the borders.
In this sequence, a Pakistani pilot was captured by the Indian Army on the border. The army shot down two Pakistani fighter jets in the Pathankot sector on Thursday night. Another Pakistani jet also crashed in Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. This included an American-made F-16 fighter jet. The pilot of that fighter jet landed in Indian territory and was taken into custody by the army. The Indian defense system effectively repelled Pakistani drones in Jalandhar.
The Indian defense system, which immediately responded to the attacks with drones, missiles, and fighter jets targeting several states including Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat along the borders, including Jammu Airport, intercepted them everywhere. In this process, it shot down Pakistani missiles and drones. It destroyed Pakistani drones in Jalandhar. It destroyed Pakistani drones and missiles for 35 minutes. At the same time, India announced that it had destroyed Pakistani air defense systems in Sargodha and Faisalabad.
Pakistan violated the agreement by using American F-16 fighter jets, which are supposed to be used only for attacks on terrorists, to attack India. It remains to be seen how the superpower will respond to this. It is noteworthy that Pakistan tried to attack India with F-16 fighter jets even during the tensions between the two countries after the 2019 Pulwama attack.
The United States has responded to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The country’s Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar on the phone. At the same time, Marco Rubio also called Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He urged the two countries to immediately stop the tensions. He assured that the United States would support direct talks between the two countries.
