Indian Armed Forces on Ceasefire Violations:

On May 11, 2025, Pakistan broke the newly agreed ceasefire within hours of its announcement. India has placed Pakistan “on notice”, as per Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Director-General of Military Operations (DGMO), saying: “There will be a response—and it will be a punitive one.”


Hotline Communication with Pakistan
Lt Gen Ghai confirmed having directly communicated with his Pakistani counterpart at 3:35 PM IST on May 10 to a ceasefire. But within hours of this, Pakistan initiated drone sorties and cross-border shelling, leading India to retaliate strongly.

Indian Navy’s Forward Combat Posture
Director General Naval Operations Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod disclosed that the Indian Navy had sent carrier groups, submarines, and air assets into position within 96 hours of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. He said: “Our forces were ready to strike both at sea and on land—including Karachi—at a moment of our choosing.”

Indian Air Force’s Operational Edge
The Director General of Air Operations confirmed that all Indian pilots returned safely after precision strikes. He emphasized: “Losses are part of combat scenarios, but our operational edge remains intact.”

Government’s Stand on Ceasefire Violations
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s Statement
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan’s actions, stating: “Pakistan must understand the gravity of the situation and take immediate steps to stop these violations.”

Army Chief Grants Full Authority for Retaliation
In response to the ceasefire violations on May 10-11, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi gave complete liberty to Western Command Army Commanders to retaliate firmly.
